An Audio Visual History of Canadian Sports
Intermediate - Secondary

Canadian sports have evolved in a unique manner closely tied to the land, its geography, and its people. This program helps students understand how a love for sports grew from activities necessary for survival in a harsh land. As the program traces the history and evolution of Canada's sporting traditions, the relationships between sports and the socio-historical contexts in which they develop become clear. The program examines the impact of Native and immigrant traditions on recreation patterns.
