Lucy
Maud Montgomery was Canada's first children's author of worldwide
renown. The most popular of her books, Anne of Green Gables

imaginative, vivacious and intelligent orphan who has since attained
mythical status. The people and the life of the village of Avonlea in
Prince Edward Island are brought to life with humour and realistic
characterizations.
