The Orchestra provides elementary classrooms with an ideal audio-visual introduction to the music and instruments of the classical orchestra. It features Peter Ustinov reading the book text, accompanied by musical illustrations from many of the classics.

The Orchestra introduces the four families of instruments, then each individual instrument within the families. A simple explanation of each instrument's distinguishing characteristics is accompanied by the sound of the solo instrument, followed by an excerpt from the classical repertoire featuring that instrument.
