Tessellations

Jim McNeill introduces basic tessellation concepts and examples of historic tessellations as well as examples of his own tessellations. He then presents a step-by-step demonstration creating simple tessellations with paper squares by cutting out a design and taping the cutout back on the opposite side of the square, tracing multiple copies on a large sheet of paper, and adding details and color. Examples of student tessellations are also shown. 20 min.
